Critique a famous photographer
1. A photograph tells us what is happening in that specific moment in time. Whether it is posed or candid, a photo still tells a memory or a story no matter the shot. The picture shows two women getting ready together in a bathroom. It looks like they’re getting ready for the day together. One is looking out the window and it looks like she is either being sneaky or saw something she didn’t like and the other one looks like she is coming out from behind the curtain like she was being sneaky for a moment too.
2. The techniques that were used for this photo might be a tripod was set up (because the photo was vey still) Maybe like some sort of saturation was used (because photo is very bright with colors) and flash and they might’ve used a slow shutter speed (because the lady was walking in the picture but it was very clear and not blurry at all).
3. Adjectives that I think describe this photo: Colorful, Clean, Domestic, Expressive, Fancy, Girly.
4. The photograph seems to be girly as in the photo is very pink, they’re wearing pink robes, hair rollers, and they’re putting on makeup and getting ready. It’s very expressive because of how bright it is and because one of the ladies has a snarl on her face.
5. I would say maybe morning or mid afternoon for the time of day? It looks to be bright out but kinda cloudy? I would say maybe late 1950’s to early 1960’s? That’s when pink bathrooms were popular as well as hair rollers were used and the window and shower curtains were very bright and floral.
